Our feet are often taken for granted, but when you think about it they are our main form of transport!
They are the foundation of our body and play a crucial role in our stability, particularly the pelvis and the spine. Biomechanical dysfunctions of the feet can lead to issues ranging from heel pain through to hip and spinal problems.
‘Pronation’ is the part of walking and running that allows your body to absorb the shock of contact with the ground. As your foot hits the ground, it locks slightly to absorb shock and allow your foot to stabilise itself to propel forward for the next step. However, sometimes your foot rolls too far inward, known as overpronation, causing lower body pain in areas such as your legs, knees, hips and even your spine.
Magnesium plays several important roles in the health of your body and brain:
Magnesium participates in bone formation and bone health.
Together with calcium, magnesium is important for maintaining bone health and preventing osteoporosis.
Prevention and treatment of Diabetes.
For its properties it improves Heart health.
A daily intake of Magnesium reduces migraine headaches.
For its anti-inflammatory properties, it decreases premenstrual syndrome discomfort.
Relieves anxiety and it reduces chances of depression.
Magnesium is the fourth most abundant mineral in the human body. In fact, every cell in our body contains it and needs it to function.
However, you may not be getting enough of it, even if you eat a healthy diet. Read the article to find out if your body is asking you for Magnesium.
What are the Benefits of Chiropractic Care during pregnancy?
Chiropractic therapy is a non-invasive technique to realign joints of the body to reduce spinal nerve stress and optimise health and wellbeing. In other words, a “healthy spine = healthy nervous system = healthy body working at its full potential.”
The nervous system is the master communication system to all the body systems including the reproductive system. During pregnancy, the mother experiences physiological and hormonal changes as it prepares for the developing baby. Therefore, caring for the spine grows in importance during pregnancy, particularly the pelvis and spine.
During pregnancy, when your baby grows and becomes heavier, the centre of gravity shifts and your posture changes. As your abdomen protrudes the curve in your back increases, along with pelvic alignment changes.
Scoliosis means “curvature of the spine”. It is commonly first noticed in childhood or adolescence, and the curve often progresses rapidly as the child grows. If left untreated it can lead to severe spinal deformity, cronic pain and early spinal degeneration. Early detection and treatment leads to better long term results. As a community service we
We live in an environment that challenges us health wise on a daily basis. If we imagine that our health can be represented by a triangle, then this stable structure is the foundation of good health. Each side represents a major component. I.e. STRUCTURAL, CHEMICAL and EMOTIONAL. When we change anyone of these components not only will our health be affected directly, but also the other two sides are affected in some way. This leads to dis-ease or lack of ease and balance within our bodies.
By using this model at Empowering Wellness Burleigh Heads we can help you to identify the underlying cause or causes of your health challenges, create a plan of how to correct them, and ultimately restore you to a state of wellness, and not merely mask or eliminate symptoms.
Let’s look at each component in more detail.
Firstly, let’s look at the relationship between the spine and the nervous system. The nervous system connects the brain to the body and the body to the brain which allows your body to maintain a healthy state. The health of this system is vital to optimum body function and wellness.
Subluxation – What is it?
The two-way communication between the body and brain is interrupted when subluxation occurs, i.e. one of the vertebrae in your spine moves out of alignment, and/or movement patterns of the vertebrae are abnormal creating pressure and stress on the spinal nerves, blood vessels, and surrounding muscles. This can cause an imbalance in the body’s normal processes because the nerves in the spinal column extend to the entire body and its organs. If the subluxation is not corrected, over time the nerve damage gets progressively worse and different stages of subluxation degeneration set in.
At Empowering Wellness Burleigh our focus is to provide you the results you are looking for with the most effective Chiropractic Care. We are passionate about honoring your body’s ability to self heal and helping it function the way it is designed to.
